On Friday 29th of January, EDU lab held the free webinar “Permaculture and STEM Education” from 6pm!
We talked about the main contents of the livingSTEM Manual designed mainly for teachers of scientific subjects, with the aim of introducing them to the possibilities offered by the livingSTEM project that combines Permaculture, use of non-formal activities, STEM and gamification.
Permaculture is based on three main pillars: Earth Care – People Care – Fair Share – and linking these issues to science subjects is important to make students responsible citizens and motivate them to study STEM.
The webinar is part of a cycle of interventions organized within the livingSTEM project which also includes the organization of what developed within the classes that request them.
The teachers received the link to download the manual and all the information needed to participate in the project. Those who join, are asked to read the manual and give feedback on the contents, in order to be involved in experimenting the tools developed by the project. EDU lab will also give its support so that the learning experience of STEM subjects, through the activities and games of the project, becomes a good practice to be included in the same manual, which still has a chapter to write together!
